Prof. Karsten Fischer
Prof. Karsten Fischer has held the Chair of Political Theory at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich since 2010. He studied political science, philosophy and international law in Bonn and Frankfurt/M. Herfried Münkler supervised his doctorate and habilitation at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
Fischer was a research coordinator of the working group "Gemeinwohl und Gemeinsinn" (public welfare and public spirit) at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and research assistant at the Humboldt University. His research and publications focus on the history of ideas and the theory of democracy, liberalism, politics and religion. His most recent publications are „Moralkommunikation der Macht“ (2006) and together with Sebastian Huhnhol “Liberalismus. Traditionsbestände und Gegenwartskontroversen“(2019)
