Location and History

The site of the present-day resort is closely linked to the history of the Bachmair family and the Weissachmühle. According to official information provided by the resort, the Weissachmühle was built and operated by the Bachmair family on this site as early as 1834.

Its location along an important route around Lake Tegernsee and towards Tyrol led to the early development of guest accommodation and dining facilities. The site thus has a long-standing tradition of hospitality, providing accommodation and welcoming guests for nearly two centuries.

In the mid-1990s, the property was reimagined in response to growing demand. Among other changes, the complex was transformed into a senior living residence with integrated hotel rooms and apartments. The property was subsequently sold by descendants of the Bachmair family and acquired by the Peters family from Waldkraiburg.

Renovation and redevelopment of the complex began in 1997. The property, in its present architectural form, was inaugurated in July 1999 as the “Parkresidenz Bachmair-Weissach”. Following a further repositioning in 2003, the property was operated as Hotel Parkresidenz under various hotel chains.
